(Title with large repair at lower corner and several long closed tears, one through imprint, A1, C1, C4-7, and K1 with heavy repairs and minor loss of letters, several supplied in ink, other mends elsewhere, residual browning and soiling.) Blue morocco gilt by Brugalla, 1941. Provenance: purchased from José Porter, 1941, then rebound. FIRST EDITION of this important work on literary aesthetics. Palau VI, 106893; this first edition not in Goldsmith or Salvá who only possessed the fourth edition (Antwerp, 1702).
