DUPLEIX, Scipion (1569-1661). La curiosité naturelle rédigée en questions selon l'ordre alphabétique. Rouen: Nicolas Angot, 1615. 12° (142 x 74mm). Title device, woodcut ornaments. (Title slightly browned and soiled, occasional soiling of text, slight paper fault affecting T3 and T10.) Later 19th-century green morocco, gilt spine-lettering and turn-ins, gilt and marbled edges, silk marker. Provenance: Don. A. Canovas del Castillo (bookplate) -- purchased from G.P. de Terpied, 1952. RARE SECOND EDITION, the first appearing in 1606. Apparently no copy of this edition in BnF. Earliest edition in Krivatsy is 1620 (and imperfect). cf. Krivatsy/NLM 3546.
