OLIVIER, Jacques. Alphabet de l'imperfection et malice des femmes ... troisième édition. Paris: Jean Petit-Pas, 1619. 12° (143 x 80mm). Engraved title vignette. (Slight soiling, E1 with corner torn away, burnhole in N6 causing loss of a word recto and verso.) Red morocco by Duru and Chambolle, 1862, gilt-lettered spine and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, gilt over marbled edges. Third edition of this 'ouvrage singulier', the first appearing in 1617. Brunet noted that all the early editions were equally valued, the third containing the first printing of 'Portraict racourcy d'une femme mondaine pour le friant dessert des courtizans et partizans', with separate pagination. The figure on the title-page is thought to represent Marguerite de Valois. Brunet IV, 182.
