First published in 1627, this new edition includes a life of the author who acted as ambassador to Rome and Venice, as well as being Governor of Tuscany, on behalf of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. The text provides an account of the suppression of the Morisco uprising in Andalucia in the sixteenth century. The surviving rebels, all Moorish converts to Christianity, were relocated throughout Castile. Palau VII, 117246.
