The case of typical form, the hood surmounted by carved figural finials, the door lenticle depicting the Rape of Europe, the brass dial with shipsautomaton to the arch, C-scroll spandrels to the corners surrounding a silvered chapter ring, signed Corn. Uijterweer, Rotterdam, with matted center, subsidiary seconds ring and moonphase, the brass twin-barrel movement with anchor escapement, Dutch strike and alarm on two bells; pendulum, two small weights, two large weights, winding key and door key
