Lot Essay

A painting by Jean Victor Louis Faure (1786-1879) depicts the Forum from an almost identical viewpoint.
A comparable panel was sold at Christie's New York Oct 17, 2012 - Oct 18, 2012, lot 109 (12,500 USD).
