A CHESTNUT AND STRAW-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE OF A HORSE
TANG DYNASTY (618-907)
The horse has a hogged mane and is shown standing on a rectangular base with head turned slightly to the left and ears laid flat. The body is covered with a yellowish straw glaze heavily streaked in chestnut, while the unglazed cloth-covered saddle and saddle blanket show traces of black and reddish pigment.
