AN UNUSUAL LARGE YAOZHOU CELADON MOLDED CONICAL BOWL
NORTHERN SONG/JIN DYNASTY (960-1234)
The bowl has deep, widely flared sides that rise to an upright rim and is molded in the interior with two ducks, a winged mythical creature and a lotus plant amidst the rippling waves of a pond. The bowl is covered with a glaze of olive-green color that also covers the base.
