A PAIR OF UNDERGLAZE-BLUE AND COPPER-RED-DECORATED CELADON-GROUND BOTTLE VASES
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The body of each is decorated with three large shaped medallions painted in underglaze blue and copper red with scenes of a scholar, a dragon, and birds and a prunus on one, and a scholar, mythical beast, and birds and a prunus tree on the other. All are reserved on a celadon ground carved in imitation of bamboo.
