LATE YUAN/EARLY MING DYNASTY, 14TH CENTURY
The figure is shown seated in padmasana with right hand raised in vitarka mudra, the left hand held in dhyana mudra. The figure is wearing loose robes draped with a shawl that falls in graceful folds around the body, and is open at the chest to reveal an elaborate beaded necklace above a sash tied in a bow at the waist. The broad face is molded with gentle expression.
