MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The figure with contemplative expression is shown seated on a rectangular seat raised on a shaped base. His hands are positioned to hold a gui tablet, and he is wearing heavy layered robes with lotus scroll borders, and a court hat with long cords that trail down in front and loop over the forearms.
