A SMALL SPINACH-GREEN JADE CUSHION-FORM BOX AND COVER
QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER INSCRIBED MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The flat top of the domed cover is carved in relief with a shou medallion, and the box is raised on a shallow, slightly flared ring foot. The mottled stone is semi-translucent and has tiny blackish inclusions.
2 15/16 in. (7.5 cm.) diam.
Provenance
Buckminster Collection, Boston and Farmington, Massachusetts, acquired in the 19th century and thence by decent within the family.
