A BLUE AND WHITE BOWL, LIANZI WAN
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The bowl is well potted with deep, rounded sides painted around the exterior with petal lappets, each enclosing a lotus plant, and reserved on a cell ground. The center of the interior is painted with a circular roundel of a scholar's rock positioned by a garden fence on a rocky ledge above a lotus pond. The base bears an apocryphal Xuande mark.
