A BLUE AND WHITE ROULEAU VASE
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The sides are painted in deep, rich, saturated tones of purplish blue with a continuous scene of a pair of deer in a rocky landscape looking up at a crane in flight while its mate is shown on the reverse standing on the branch of a pine tree, all below a subtle bow-string band encircling the cylindrical neck between penciled decorative borders.
