A BLUE AND WHITE SHALLOW BOWL
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The bowl is finely painted with an amorous couple standing before a table and canopy bed within a pavilion. A female attendant is shown standing to one side gazing out at the garden beyond. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with a flock of birds and a boat beside a river bank, and the base is inscribed with an apocryphal Jiajing mark.
6 3/8 in. (16.3 cm.) diam.
