TRANSITIONAL PERIOD, CIRCA 1650
The tapering sides of the jar are brightly decorated with a continuous scene depicting a pheasant standing on a blue rock surrounded by large peony and chrysanthemum blossoms, below branches of rose, camellia and prunus on the neck. The domed cover is densely decorated with peony meander below the bud finial.
