A BLUE AND WHITE 'DRAGON' DISH
DAOGUANG SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The dish is well painted in the center with a dragon leaping amidst flames and scrolling clouds in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl', all reserved against an underglaze blue ground. The cavetto and exterior are similarly decorated with pairs of striding dragons.
9 7/8 in. (25.2 cm.) diam.
