A BLUE AND WHITE CELADON-GROUND BALUSTER JAR
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The jar is decorated with two four-clawed dragons pursuing flaming pearls amidst flames below two phoenixes in flight between clouds on the shoulder, and four 'precious objects' on the neck, all in underglaze blue and white reserved on a soft olive-green ground. An artemisia leaf within a double circle is painted in underglaze blue on the base.
