The vase is carved and decorated in underglaze blue, copper red and celadon with a continuous river landscape on the trumpet-shaped neck and the lower body. The convex midsection is set between bow-string bands and is decorated with two butterflies in flight amidst lotus and chrysanthemum flowers. An apocryphal Chenghua mark is on the base.
