AN UNUSUAL DOUCAI 'DRAGON' BOWL
18TH CENTURY
The deep, rounded sides that flare slightly towards the rim are decorated on the exterior with a pair of green dragons striding amidst iron-red flames in pursuit of flaming pearls reserved on a ground of incised wave pattern, repeated in the center of the interior under a yellow glaze that rises to a border of doucai lingzhi scroll at the rim.
