A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE HU-FORM VASE
LATE QING DYNASTY
The vase is of baluster form with a pair of bamboo-form handles flanking the neck. The sides are decorated with circular medallions enclosing a dragon and phoenix chasing a flaming pearl set between vases containing flowers and surrounded by fruits and antiques, reserved against a yellow sgraffito ground. The neck and shoulder are enameled with decorative bands, including one band depicting boys at play.
