Enea Vico was an Italian engraver and dealer in antiquities born in Parma. He specialized in grotesque engravings based on antique paintings. Vico made engravings for Cosimo I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany and later Alfonso II, Duke of Ferrara. The fine set of engravings that comprise this work follow in reverse a set of prints of cameos by Giovanni Battista Franco (ca 1498-1561; see Bartsch Vol. 16, II:81-83). Brunet V:1174.
