Gaspard Cachard was the successor to the renowned clockmaking firm of Charles Leroy (1709-1771), when he acquired the business in 1792/1795. He is recorded at Rue St-Denis and was active until circa 1802 (Tardy, Dictionnaire des Horlogers Français, Paris, p. 105).
