CIRCA 1820, ATTRIBUTED TO GILLOWS

The shell carving is almost identical to the celebrated Gillows hall chairs at the Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Cumbria, illustrated in Susan Stuart, Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840, London, 2008, vol. I, p. 203.
