Rectangular with rounded corners, the body reeded overall, the hinged cover applied with ribbon-tied laurel swags set with diamonds and a sapphire, applied with the stylized cypher of the recipient, with a sapphire cabochon thumb-piece, the inside cover engraved with inscription in Russian, 'To the dearest director of the factory "Noblessner" Grigory Grigorievich Bubnov In memory of collaborative work from [his] faithful colleagues October 1815 [sic]', marked inside cover and base

Grigory Grigorievich Bubnov co-founded the Baltic shipyard and shipbuilding company Noblessner in 1913. The St. Petersburg firm supplied naval arms and munitions.
