In 1913 Troubetzkoy was a guest of honor at the Cleveland Advertising Club in Cleveland, Ohio. Also among the honored guests was Mr. Howard Parmelee Eells, a prominent art collector, philanthroper and financier in Cleveland at the time. Mrs. Eells attended a dinner in the Prince's honor that evening and it is presumed that the present lot was commissioned at that time. The bronze depicts Mrs. Eells with her sister and has remained in the family since.
