Lot Essay

The inscription cartouches read 'zaman-e riyasat-e divan-e 'adalat o tejarat-e khorasan o sistan bar hasb-e farmayesh-e janab-e halalat-ma'ab-e ajall aqa-ye rokn ol-dowleh 1316, which translates as 'In the time of [his] leadership of the court of justice and commerce of Khorasan and Sistan, on the order of the honourable, the one of lawful position, the most glorious Rukn al-'Dowleh 1316'. Another carpet woven for the Governor of Khorasan and Sistan is lot 103 in this sale.
