Lot Essay
Though little is known of Anna Latry's oeuvre and career, the artist favored whimsical and charming subjects such as the present lot. Latry first exhibited the bronze group Le Petite Chaperon Rouge at the 1889 Paris Salon (no. 4589) and then again in 1893 (no. 3060). In 1888, Latry exhibited a figure of Cendrillon (Cinderella), undoubtedly drawing inspiration from Charles Perrault's Les contes du temps passé and Les contes de ma mère l'oye (Mother Goose Tales).
