Beginning with the second chapter, Persian manuscript on ivory paper, 501ff. plus 1 fly-leaf, each folio with 17ll. of neat black naskh usually arranged in two columns with double gold intercolumnar rule, further lines of similar naskh in the margins punctuated by a triangular panel of gold and polychrome illumination, catchwords, headings in larger red naskh, four headings in white stylised kufic or gold naskh on elegantly illuminated panels, final folio with name of scribe and date, later owner's stamps throughout, final folio lacking, numerous later owner's stamps through the text, in contemporaneous shagreen binding decorated with a gilt medallion and spandrels, the brown morocco doublures with central cusped medallion and spandrels with elegant découpé on blue ground
