Arabic manuscript on paper, 300ff. plus 5 fly-leaves, each folio with 15ll. of black naskh contained within gold, black and red ruled text panels, gold and polychrome roundel verse markers, catchwords, sura headings in white on gold panels, hizb marked in red naskh in the margins, sajda and juz' in white naskh in gold illuminated marginal medallions, opening bifolium with dense gold and polychrome illumination surrounding 7ll. of naskh in clouds reserved against gold ground, colophon signed Isma'il al-Rushdi bi Hafiz al-Qur'an min talamidh Isma'il Zuhdi and dated 1235, in contemporaneous but repaired purple morocco with gilt medallion and spandrels filled with leafy vine, marbled paper doublures
