Lot Essay

This panel contains a ruling attributed to 'Ali bin Abi Talib from the Nahj al-Balagha.

'Abd al-Baqi' al-Tabrizi was a famous scribe of naskh and thuluth in the Safavid period. Along with 'Ali Reza 'Abbasi, he was responsible for the inscritions on the Masjid-i Shah (Masjid-i Imam) in Isfahan (Mehdi Bayani, Ahval va Asar-e Khosh-Nevisan, Vol. II, Tehran 1346 sh., p.364).
