DESIGNED IN 1969 BY LORD SNOWDON
Of ash laminate and beech, painted in red and gilt with Prince of Wales feathers and his motto ICH DIEN [I serve], the integral seat-cushions re-upholstered in tartan wool

Lot Essay

20-year-old Prince Charles was invested with the title Prince of Wales in 1969 at Caernarfon Castle. The guests' chairs had been specially designed by his uncle Lord Snowdon, and guests were able to take them home afterwards.
