IRAN, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
Painted in a very individual style, of typical form with rounded end and sliding tray, the painted decoration with two ladies, one with a child and the other with her eyes closed, to whom advances are apparently made by two elderly men, a European-style castle in the background, the sides with cartouches and medallions with courtly scenes, the base is fully-painted with a mounted noble, his sword drawn, on a lion hunt, the sliding tray with finely painted foliated scrolls on black ground between two bands of recurring leaf patterns, in good condition
