The blue and black underglaze painted decoration depicting a tasseled caparison with a lion pouncing on its prey and flying cranes on floral ground, elephant mounted by eight figures wearing tall Qajar hats seating in a howdah, a mahout on its neck and an attendant under its trunk, an openwork figure of a bird underneath its undercarriage, on a compartimented and fenced rectangular base, most figures restored
