POSSIBLY CENTRAL ASIA OR IRAN, CIRCA 14TH CENTURY
Juz' XV, Arabic manuscript on paper, 7ff. plus two modern fly-leaves, each folio with 11ll. of black muhaqqaq script, with gold and polychrome rosette verse markers, text within blue and black-ruled gold frame, with gold and polychrome illuminated marginal medallions inscribed in gold kufic script, opening folio with sura heading in green kufic script on red and green cross-hatched ground and bordered with illuminated panels with floral sprays on gold ground, with later added cartouche above with the juz' number, final folio with sura heading probably original in gold kufic script within illuminated cartouche, trimmed, minor waterstaining to the top margin, in modern gilt binding
