Each with rounded profile, on short foot and with sloping rim, the decoration on white ground and with palmettes reserved against cobalt-blue, the central field with floral sprays and green, brownish red and yellow highlights, one with area of restoration, crackled, otherwise intact

Lot Essay

The polychrome slip-painted decoration of this type of "Kubachi" type is much indebdted to Iznik ceramics of the second half of the 16th century. The style of decoration, with sweeping branches and floral sprays is also strongly influence by neighbouring Turkey.
