A WESTERN ASIATIC GOLD, ROCK CRYSTAL AND STONE BEAD NECKLACE
CIRCA 2900-2800 B.C.
Composed of numerous flat gold ringlets interspersed with eight spherical rock crystal beads and 16 black steatite cylindrical beads, a domed gold disc threaded at the end, the edge decorated with two bands of minute raised bosses, the central pendant formed of a heliotrope, onyx and haematite biconical beads, spherical rock crystal beads at either end, held together with two flat gold bars, each pierced three times for insertion of long gold pins, attached to gold coils at the top and with snake head terminals at the lower ends, restrung
