A ROMAN SNAKE RING
CIRCA 1ST CENTURY A.D.
Composed of a single strand of gold, coiled three times to form the hoop and twisted into a figure of eight at each end with snake head terminals, with added granular and incised decoration; together with a Ptolemaic bronze ring with female head in profile to the left, circa 2nd-1st Century B.C.
½ in. (1.3 cm.) and ¾ in. (1.6 cm.) across hoop respectively (2)

Private collection, UK, acquired prior to 1975; thence by descent to the present owner.
