According to the Archives of Audemars Piguet, the present watch was sold in November 1960.

To the best of our knowledge, this unusual model is seen for the first time at auction. The case is typical from the 1950s and 1960s production of Audemars Piguet when the brand tried to differentiate itself from its competitors by bringing various case shapes to the market. However, only a handful of this model was produced.
The present example is especially attractive through its case proportion and it was preserved in very good condition.
