The legendary Nautilus collection was introduced in 1976 when Patek Philippe was looking for a strong design of inimitable personality. An inspiration for such a timepiece soon emerged: the universal shape of a porthole found on virtually all maritime vessels. Since then, the Nautilus has established itself as a classic elegant sports watch.
Reference 3711 was in production for a short period of time, from 2004 until 2007. Similar to reference 3700 in size and shape, this model, however, features sweep centre seconds and a slightly thicker case. Fresh to the market, the present example is among less than 20 examples that are known from the market to date.
