Regarding ref. 5513, Dr Monir Amin Gad was granted with the CSA gold medal in August 1975. The CSA Gold Medal is an annual award, sponsored by Rolex Watches for 35 years (1970-2005), for the "Fastest Solo Swimmer of the Year" across the English Channel, awarded by the Channel Swimming Association. The Channel Swimming Association, CSA, was created in 1927 with the aim of observing and authenticating all Cross-Channel Swims in the Strait of Dover. In 1975, Dr Monir Amin Gad, from Egypt, won by crossing over the Channel in 9 hours and 40 minutes.

For The second, ref. 16800, with Rolex Garantie and Attestation de Chronomètre officiel dated 13 March 1985 and Rolex fitted green presentation box.
Reference 16800 was launched in 1982 and introduced the quick-set date. The depth rating was increased to 1000ft (300 m). The present watch is from the early series, still fitted with the black matte dial and without the white gold frames around the luminous numerals.
