Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated in 1985. Furthermore delivered with Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with black dial in 1984 and its subsequent sale on 25 September 1985, instruction booklet, original sales tag, leather wallet, fitted wooden presentation box and outer packaging.

Reference 3800 was in production from 1981 to 2006 and available in different versions. It was replaced by reference 5800.

The present watch is from the first series that was produced until 1987. This version in platinum is a heavy weight compared to the steel version both in terms of its actual weight (total weight of 180 grams) due to the density of platinum and in terms of its rarity that enhances the perceived value of a collection. Indeed, only a handful of the platinum version is known from the market to date.
