With sighted octagonal barrel with single line 'ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA', cylinder with worn stagecoach scene, frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', brass grip-strap and trigger-guard, the former with traces of engraved dedication, chequered ivory grips, chequered wedge, and matching numbers throughout, the barrel, frame, grip-strap, trigger-guard and rammer each engraved with Gustave Young style scrollwork, the principle numbers marked with a letter 'E' (light surface corrosion marking and discolouration throughout)
