With reblacked nitro chopperlump barrels (London reproof 1973) signed in full and respectively numbered '1' and '2' in gold, 2¾in. (70mm) chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and ¼ choke, case-hardened best bouquet and scroll engraved actions, blued toplevers engraved en suite and respectively numbered '1' and '2' in gold, manual safeties each with gold-inlaid 'SAFE', signed case-hardened locks engraved en suite and each with gold-inlaid cocking-indicator, well figured 15 1/8in. stocks, gold escutcheons, and blued rolled-edge trigger-guards, retaining much original case-hardened finish, in makers lightweight leather motor case with canvas and leather outer, the lid initialled 'A.E.'

The makers have kindly confirmed that this pair of guns were ordered on 22 February 1935 for a Comr. H. Kemmis

Kemmis was mentioned in the London Gazette and promoted to Lt ??? following his actions aboard H.M.S. ?????? at the battle of Jutland in 1916
