With blued octagonal sighted barrel signed 'HARVEY'S PATENT EXETER', engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzle and rifled with two grooves, border and scroll engraved cylinder numbered from '1' to '6', border and scroll engraved frame fitted with patent safety to the left side, figured walnut saw-handle butt stamped with the serial number and secondary inventory number '10', blued border and scroll engraved trigger-guard, and blued patent detachable rammer/stripping-tool, retaining some original finish throughout, London proof marks, in original fitted mahogany case lined in dark blue baize with accessories including a good Dixon revolver flask, a brass double-cavity ball mould, the lid with Robert Hughes trade label, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon

Incorporating British patent no. 1298 of 26 May 1853 and no. 2602 of 11 December 1854

The barrel-block has been factory-altered to accept the third model rammer

It has been suggested that Robert Hughes may possibly have been contracted by Harvey to manufacture his revolver
