RETAILED BY SCHOLEFIELD & SONS, SERIAL NO. 549, CIRCA 1854
With blued octagonal signed sighted barrel engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzle and cut with three-groove rifling, foliate and scroll engraved case-hardened cylinder numbered from '1' to '6', case-hardened frame profusely engraved with scrollwork and with removable inspection plate on the left side signed 'WEBLEY'S PATENT', the serial numbered grip-strap signed 'BY HER MAJESTY'S ROYAL LETTERS PATENT', scroll engraved case-hardened hammer, scroll engraved trigger-guard and butt-cap, the former with traces of original blued finish, the latter with small lanyard-ring, and with case-hardened scroll engraved rammer fitted to the right side of the frame pivoting on the barrel-hinge-screw, retaining nearly all its original finish throughout, Birmingham proof marks
