AN AGATE 'CARP' VASE
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The well-hollowed vessel is carved in the form of a leaping carp, with a small chilong dragon clambering on top. The stone is of a bright reddish-orange tone, with lighter and darker inclusions. A creamy-white section of the stone is utilised to highlight the chilong dragon.
6 5/8 in. (17 cm.) long, wood stand
