The rectangular pendant is carved to one side with a boat before a pavilion and the reverse with a five-line inscription. The stone is of an even pale tone.

Lot Essay

The inscription contains an extract from the famous text entitled 'Teng Wang Ge Xu'. This was composed by the Tang dynasty poet Wang Bo (circa AD 649-676).
