                                            A CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL WALL CLOCK 
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The clock has a bulbous body and a tall neck rising to a flaring mouth rim with a pair of archaistic phoenix handles, and is surmounted by a cover decorated with chrysanthemum sprays. The body is set with a clock bearing Chinese characters surrounded by a stylised openwork lotus scroll cartouche. The ruyi-shaped base is mounted onto a carved wood stand.
