A BLUE AND WHITE BALUSTER VASE
WANLI PERIOD (1573-1619)
The bulbous body of the vase is decorated with a five-clawed dragon and a phoenix in flight amongst scrolling vines bearing flower heads. The waisted neck is painted with a band of ruyi heads, rising to a flaring mouth rim.
